How to START things the Right Way

English: The space shuttle Atlantis and its fi... We all want to know how to start and how to start things the right way. Today I got really turned On (professionally speaking) with this great article shared by Jeff Haden (@ called “The Best Way to Start, Well, Anything” linke here for those who want to read it entirely: http://bit.ly/16bgwjQ

The thing with this article is, that it comes from an interview-call between Jeff Haden and Mike Williams, the president and CEO of the David Allen Company (the Getting Things Done folks). In the interview-call to the main Boss at what’s probably the most known productivity company today, Jeff receives a first strike when he is asked by Mike -”What would make this call wildly successful for you?”. In this question resides the whole quid.

What will make whatever-you-plan-to-do wildly successful? English: Justine Ezarik at New Media Expo 2008

This article reminded me of a recent interview I saw of Gary Vaynerchuk alias @GaryVee “The Hardest Working Man in Social Media. He was asked about the Balance between family and work-life. You might have thought that he would answer to this question like many others, talking about time management or principle based leadership, but he didn’t. At least not in the traditional line of thought. He actually explained how he did reverse engineering (as he claims he does with every project) to his family / marriage plans. Gary saw the potential of his soon-to-be wife in the first hours and he knew right away she was the one. He later tested little by little his assumptions on her being what he thought he needed and eventually got married to her. I wonder what would be her opinion on this one… In the end, he found the kind of wife that would enable his success in a very demanding entrepreneurial life. The secret, he says, is knowing and having certainty in the Result, in the final Outcome and then Reverse engineering your way to your start point.

In my case, I know I wanted to marry my wife at the first glance. I didn’t actually know her, but did know she would be the right one. And believe me it has been the greatest decision I’ve made in my life and I didn’t have the great intuition of GaryVee or the wise knowledge of Mike Williams.

Nevertheless, as GaryVee, Mike Williams and Jeff Haden share with us, there is a great way for those who understand that knowing your “Best Expected Result / Wildly Successful Outcome” -Starting from the end-, is the best possible way to get where you want. Do you know what will be your “Wildly Successful Outcome”?
